History

2001

ANTs was originally formed by a student of Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Tom Maher. When Tom sadly passed away in 2004, a band of members nurtured the club and helped it to continue to grow. Some of those original members are still riding with the club today.

The original premise was for the club to be based on natural horsemanship lines and this continues as a strong theme.

20 Year Reunion

We celebrated 20 years as a Club at our Christmas Lunch in 2021, enjoying the company of past and present members while enjoying the fabulous hospitality of Six Degrees in Albany, Western Australia. It was also an opportunity to thank our most active member and founding member, Melanie Price, for her continued contribution to our Club.

Present Day

We welcome riders from all types of backgrounds and training methods.

In the last 10 years, we became affiliated with ATHRA, a national body representing trail riding across Australia. Membership to ATHRA allows our club members to ride with any other ATHRA club in the country. They also lobby on our behalf to continue to keep horse riding trails open and accessible.

We ride on average of twice a month at different locations.
